Diego Maradona has been admitted to hospital Ipensa Institute in La Plata for reasons which have to be made official.
Maradona celebrated his 60th birthday just days ago, and also helped his team – Gimnasia La Plata – to a 3-0 win on October 30 against Patronato, though he was not feeling 100 percent and left soon into the game.
According to ESPNF90, Maradona didn’t seem well and was somewhat depressed, and so it was decided he should go to hospital to evaluate if there are any medical complications which may be influencing his quality of life.
Dr. Leopoldo Luque, Maradona’s personal physician, is expected to give a statement on the footballing legend’s health in the coming hours, though his condition is not believed to be critical.
After not feeling well over the weekend and not wanting to eat anything on Monday, Maradona decided along with his entourage that going to hospital would be the right thing to do.
After weeks of not feeling right, it is thought that the bad eating habits, emotional extremes and dehydration that came with the celebration of his 60th birthday culminated in his decline in health.
