The Honourable Member Representing Aba North and South in the National Assembly, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike has expressed concern over the alleged sexual assault of an Abia Polytechnic female student by a police officer.
The lawmaker who expressed dissatisfaction over the development, called on the Abia State Commissioner of Police and Aba Area Commander to carry out a thorough investigation with a view to bring the culprit to book.
He sternly warned the RRS unit of the Nigerian Police in Aba, to discharge their duties according to the Federal Government directives, rather than humiliating, intimidating, or extorting from the good and hardworking people of Aba.
Ebisike also extolled the wife of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu for her prompt intervention, especially for visiting the sexually abused girl who was receiving treatment in a hospital.
While sympathising with the family, the lawmaker advised the young girl, not to allow the ugly incident break or traumatise her.
Hon.
