Anambra election: How Soludo Won,and the performance of other candidates

Details of the results announced by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, leading to the victory of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as well as how each political party performed in the poll, has emerged.

DAILY POST had reported that Soludo of the state’s ruling party, was declared winner of the election on Wednesday morning by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The returning officer for the election who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi made the announcement shortly after concluding the supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government Area which took place on Tuesday.

The Governor-elect defeated Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that came second in the election and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC that emerged third in the exercise.

Below are details of the results as announced by INEC, including the standing of all political parties in the election.

Registered voters: 2,466,638

Accredited Voters: 253,388

Total Votes cast: 249,631

Rejected Votes: 8,108

Valid Votes: 241,523
