Jabribigbo the Spokesperson for Modestus Abiazie Osakwe has penned a congratulatory message to Isu people and the newly elected member to represent Isu LGA at the Imo State house of assembly on his victory.
The missive from Jabribigbo elicited the varied emotions that has accompanied the collective journey of Isu constituents towards Modestus Osakwe’s victory. The victimization and frustrating antics of the oppositions, who employed all uncivilised means possible to truncate the peoples wish, and Ndi Isu’s faith and belief in the person of Modestus Osakwe which was tested to its brim especially with the uncertainties surrounding the long wait they all were made to endure.
Below is an e-copy of his congratulatory message to Hon.Modestus Osakwe and the entire Isu constituents.
”My lovely brothers and sisters from Isu local government, and non Indigenes who gladly responded to the call in the valley on March 18, 2023, I thank you. I thank you. I thank you so much.
It’s been a long time coming, but because of what we did in the Isu House of Assembly election, at this defining moment, change for a better life has come to Isu . The role you played reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up and we have fought our way back. We made our voice heard and we made a difference. To God be the glory.
It’s worthy to note that the just concluded election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that is on my mind is about a poor blind woman who cast her ballot in Unit 001 – umundugba ward 2. . She’s about 95 years old, who stood in line patiently for several hours to make her voice heard. She kept pleading with the voters at the polling unit not to mortgage their conscience because of N5, 000 from the APC
It’s imperative that we understand that no matter what we do or where we find ourselves, we will carry the memory of the history we made together on March 18th all through the period we will live on earth. And I wish to assure you that you will have the lifelong appreciation of a grateful House of Assembly member –HON MODESTUS OSAKWE(SACLUX PAINT).
It’s on record that in the election, we heard the voice of strong determination in your actions, as you patiently waited to cast your votes and stayed back to watch over your votes. We also heard the voice of deep patriotism in the great role you played- staying all day night to ensure that the will of Isu people wasn’t subverted by the agents of darkness in state.
I know you didn’t do this just for us to win an election, and I know you didn’t do it for Hon modestus Osakwe . You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. You did it because you are so much concerned about the present condition and the future of the people. I know you did it because you want our kids to grow up in a state where they have access to the best schools and the best teachers – a local government that lives up to the legacy as the national leader in technology, discovery and innovation, agriculture, SME and industrialization – with all of the good jobs and new businesses that follow.
I know you did it because you want our children to live in an environment that is not burdened by debt, that is not weakened up by inequality, that is not threatened by the destructive power of corruption.
I know you did it because you want us to pass on a local government that is safe, respected and admired around Imo state You did it because you believe in a generous Isu, in a compassionate Isu, in a tolerant Isu open to the dreams of those non-indigenes in around who were born, grew up in Isu local government and got established here. Honestly, that’s the future every right thinking human in the Isu should long for. And that’s the vision Hon Modestus Osakwe shares with us.
Despite all the hardship we’ve been through, despite all the frustrations of APC led government, with Hon Modestus Osakwe electioneering campaign promises and his reassurance of those promises, I ask you to sustain your hope, because the technical aspect of all Hon Modestus Osakwe needs to do in Isu were concluded before he embarked on his electioneering campaigns.
For those out there who still doubt the possibility of remaking Isu; who still wonders if the dream of our founding fathers is alive in our time; who still questions the power of modest, I’m reminding you that because some human beings like you and I believed, a man from the United States landed on the moon; because they believed, a wall came down in Berlin-Germany; because they believed, a world was connected by science and imagination.
Scripturally, because the children of Israelites believed, they walked safely through the Red Sea on dry land. It’s instructive to note that ideas rule the world! And with God impossibility is nothing! Hon Modestus Osakwe won’t disappoint you.
