NIGCOMSAT’s New CEO Emphasizes Strategic Innovation for Economic Growth
LAGOS – Mrs. Nkechi Jane Egerton-Idehen, the newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), has stated her intention to boost the economy through strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors. This statement came during her maiden visit to the Lagos-based NigComSat facilities.
Egerton-Idehen’s vision aligns with the goals set out by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani. Under his directive, the focus is to fortify the pillars of Knowledge, Policy, Infrastructure, Innovation, and Trade. The new MD/CEO has committed to supporting the realization of all Federal Government projects, initiating with the strategic economic blueprint outlined by the Minister.
Highlighting the critical role of NigComSat in propelling Nigeria’s overall economic growth, Egerton-Idehen emphasized the importance of technical efficiency, particularly in infrastructure development. She asserted, “NIGCOMSAT Limited, as a vital asset of the federal government, is strategically positioned to uphold the five pillars of the ministry’s blueprint. This showcases the government’s dedication to fostering a robust digital economy.”
With an understanding of the pivotal role NigComSat plays in broadening communication access for all, especially the marginalized sectors of the populace, she added, “In acknowledgment of this key role, NigComSat pledges to enhance its competitive edge with the integration of emerging technologies.”
Reflecting on the evolving technological landscape and the dynamic market trends, Egerton-Idehen affirmed, “Our mission is to remain relevant, adapt to the changing market, and uphold the directives set forth by the Minister in his strategic blueprint for the betterment of his ministry and the nation.”
