Armed Robbers Kill Four, Including CBN Staff, in Robbery at Abuja Supermarket

On Tuesday evening, some daring criminals targeted Abdullahi Supermarket in One Village, near Mararaba.

The assailants brutally killed four customers, one of whom was identified as Daniel Adefemi Okunade, a staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Okunade, recognized by his CBN identity card, met a tragic end as he was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The three other victims remain unidentified at the time of this report.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the ruthless robbery occurred in less than two minutes, with Okunade, also the choir master of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in One Man Village, being a prime target.

Reportedly, Okunade had stopped by the supermarket to purchase bread for his family when the criminals stormed the store, claiming the lives of the four customers. Notably, his Toyota Venza car, parked outside, remained untouched by the perpetrators.

The late Okunade, returning from work at the time, tragically encountered his demise in the hands of the suspected robbers.

As this report is filed, tension envelops the area, with people flocking to the supermarket to identify the victims of the robbery. Police operatives from New Nyayan Divisional Police Station have transported the corpses to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary.

No official statement has been released by the police regarding the incident. Nevertheless, numerous sympathizers, including church members, are offering condolences to the grieving family of the late CBN staff.
