Zack Orji’s wife, Ngozi denies seeking public donations for husband’s health

Ngozi Orji, the wife of popular Nollywood actor Zack Orji, has refuted the rumours that she was seeking public donations for her husband’s medical bills.

She said that she never made any appeal for financial assistance and that the reports were false.

She said; “Really? For where na? Who did I tell that one? I don’t remember granting such an interview to anybody. It is well. Please, I never said anything.”

Zack Orji, who is known for his roles in movies such as “Glamour Girls”, “Rituals” and “Half of a Yellow Sun”, has been battling with an undisclosed illness for some time and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

His condition attracted the attention of the Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, who paid him an official visit and expressed her sympathy and support.

The minister also commended Zack Orji for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry and assured him of the government’s assistance.

In addition, Saidi Balogun, a fellow actor and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that the ruling party would not abandon Zack Orji, who is also a supporter of the party.

Balogun, who is the assistant spokesperson of the Performing and Creative Art Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said that the party was doing everything possible to ensure that Zack Orji recovered fully.

He said; “We are doing what we can. The authorities concerned were there and they did not abandon him, they rose up to the occasion. Before we can even stretch our hands, they (party) are stretching all their body to make sure he is okay.

“They will do the needful, because whatever we do, people are watching us. They are up to the task. If not, we would have heard a cry from the actor.”

Ngozi Orji thanked the minister, the party and the fans for their prayers and goodwill messages and urged them to keep supporting her husband.

She said; “I appreciate everyone who has shown concern and love for my husband. He is getting better by the grace of God. Please, continue to pray for him and support him. God bless you all.”
