The family of Late Mrs Cordelia Chinyere Nwokorie, Nee Orisakwe, has bid farewell to their beloved mother, who passed away on November 15, 2023, at the age of 75. She was buried on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at St Paul’s Cathedral Ezeoke Nsu, in a solemn and dignified service officiated by Archdeacon Ekeanyanwu.
Mrs Nwokorie was born on March 11, 1948, in the family of Late Pa Benedict Orisakwe of Uhuala Umuaghobe Isiekenesi in Ideato south LGA Imo state. She was married to Late Samuel Chukwudi Nwokorie of Umunjoku UMUNUMOKA Ezeoke Nsu, and together they had six children and 15 grandchildren.
She was an astute banker, who worked with AFRICAN CONTINENTAL BANK (ACB) both in Enugu and Owerri for 28 years and rose to the rank of Owerri main branch SUPERVISOR. She was known for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to her work.
She was also a devout Christian, who was actively involved in the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship works layout OWERRI. She was a generous and compassionate woman, who supported many charitable causes and helped the needy in her community.
She was very accommodating, very cheerful, and kind-hearted. She was a very good cook too, who delighted her family and friends with her delicious dishes. She loved her children so much and did not discriminate among other people’s children. She treated everyone equal and with respect.
The burial ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers, who came to pay their last respects and honour her memory. Some of the notable guests were Sir Chima Chukwuocha (CEO FOX BAR AND SHOPPERS SUPER SUPERMARKET), UMUIBE NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION, Senior Apostles Ministry, Abiding faith Assembly Owerri, Spibat world NEIGHBOURHOOD, and KEGITES CLUB INTERNATIONAL, Imo state chapter.
The family of Late Mrs Nwokorie expressed their gratitude to all those who attended the ceremony and offered their condolences and support. They also prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their mother.
“We miss her so much and pray that God gives us the fortitude to bear her death. She was a wonderful mother, a loving wife, a loyal friend, and a faithful servant of God. She will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
