President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his condolences to the family of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, former governor of Ondo State, during a visit on Wednesday. The President was warmly received by Ondo State Governor, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy, Olayide Adelami, in Owo, where Akeredolu was laid to rest last week.
During the visit, Tinubu paid tribute to the late governor, describing him as a fearless fighter who championed good governance tirelessly. “He truly embodied courage and fearlessness, especially in his relentless pursuit of good governance. I can only describe him as a fearless fighter. His unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people and his courageous nature will always be remembered,” Tinubu remarked.
The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, also welcomed President Tinubu to Owo, praising the late Akeredolu as a true democrat dedicated to democratic principles and practices.
In addition to his visit to the Akeredolu family, Tinubu also paid respects to Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the esteemed leader of the pan-Yoruba organization, Afenifere.
