The newly appointed commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante affairs in Imo State; Hon. Osakwe Abiazie Modestus on Thursday 2nd May 2024 officially resumed work in the ministry located at the State Secretariat block 4.
Addressing the Heads of Departments and staff of the ministry in his office, Hon. Modestus Osakwe expressed his unalloyed gratitude to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma for giving him the opportunity to serve as a Commissioner in his Cabinet.
Hon. Modest also thanked the Heads of Departments and staff for holding brief till his official resumption as the new Commissioner of the ministry and for ensuring the smooth running of the ministry.
While calling for support and cooperation from the staff, he charged them to be proactive in their duties and work towards actualizing the vision and mission of the 3R Mantra of the.
He called for positive mindset and urged the staff to work assiduously to achieve the key mandate of the ministry through strategic planning and efficient implementations.
Responding on behalf of the staff, The head of department (Accounting), introduced all the Heads of Departments and commended the Commissioner by showing his readiness to work.
He gave an overview of the ministry as he also reiterated staff willingness to think out of the box to achieve maximum results and pledged to definitely cooperate to ensure that the Commissioner succeeds in his administration.
He emphasized that the new Commissioner in his new role will seek to achieve harmony and improve Homeland Security which are the core policy thrust of the ministry.
The meeting had in attendance; the Heads of Account Department, Planning, Procurement, Research and Statistics and the Public Relation Officer of the ministry.
