About Nkumu Katalay: Nkumu Katalay is a multifaceted artist, dancer, choreographer, musician, orator, and social activist. Born and raised in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he now resides in New York City. Nkumu is the founder of Nkumu Katalay & The “Life Long Project” Band, an Afro Congolese Jazz/Ndombolo and Rumba group, and The “Afrocongolesedance Troupe,” also known as “Makita Ya Ndombolo.”

Nkumu’s vision is to highlight the contribution of Congolese culture to world history and to train future leaders through various social, cultural, and educational initiatives.
