ICPC Mourns the Death of Former EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Lamorde

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has expressed its sorrow over the death of Ibrahim Lamorde, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and retired Deputy Inspector General of Police.

In a statement, the ICPC described Lamorde as a dedicated and inspiring figure in the fight against corruption. The Commission highlighted his significant contributions to the nation, noting his tireless efforts to uphold justice and ensure accountability.

 

“His commitment to transparency and the rule of law inspired and will continue to inspire the younger generation and many practitioners in the anti-corruption sector,” said Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, Chairman of the ICPC.

The ICPC emphasized that individuals like Lamorde give hope for a better and corruption-free society. During this difficult time, the Commission extended its heartfelt condolences to Lamorde’s family and the EFCC.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family. We hope they find comfort in the memories of Lamorde’s life and the positive impact he had on many people during his national service as a police officer and EFCC operative,” the statement read.

The ICPC also prayed for the Almighty Allah to give Lamorde’s family and the EFCC the strength to bear this loss.
