Public Notice: Provisional Timetable and Schedule for Imo State Local Government Council Primary Elections 2024

 

The Imo State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), acting on behalf of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and National Working Committee (NWC), has approved a provisional timetable and schedule of activities for the primary elections for the Local Government Council elections in Imo State, set for September 21, 2024. This action complies with the provisions of Articles 12(3) and 24 of the APGA constitution (2019) and adheres to the ISIEC timetable and schedule.

Part 1: Schedule of Activities

 

1. Sale and Return of Forms

– Date: July 1-11, 2024

– Activity: Sale, purchase, and return of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms

– Venue: Party Office, Owerri

 

2. Screening of Councilorship Aspirants

– Date: July 12-13, 2024

– Venue: Party Office, Owerri

 

3. Screening of Chairmanship and Vice-Chairmanship Aspirants

– Date: July 15, 2024

– Venue: Party Office, Owerri

 

4. Screening Appeals

– Date: July 17, 2024

– Venue: Party Office, Owerri

 

5. Ward Congresses for Adhoc Delegate Elections

– Date: July 18, 2024

– Venue: Across the 305 Wards in Imo State

 

6. Special Ward and LGA Congress/Primary Elections

– Date: July 20, 2024

– Venue: Across the 305 Wards and 27 LGAs in Imo State

 

7. Resolution of Appeals and Disputes from Primary Elections

– Date: July 23-25, 2024

– Venue: APGA Office, Owerri

 

8. Collection of ISIEC Forms DF001 and DF002

– Date: July 29-30, 2024

-Venue: APGA Office, Owerri

 

9. Submission Deadline for Forms DF001 and DF002

   – Date: August 5-9, 2024

– Venue: ISIEC Office, Owerri

 

10. Validation of Councilorship Candidates’ Documents

– Date: August 12-14, 2024

– Venue: ISIEC Office, Owerri

 

11. Validation of Chairmanship and Vice-Chairmanship Candidates’ Documents

– Date: August 15-16, 2024

– Venue: ISIEC Office, Owerri

 

12. Delivery of Validated Candidates to Political Parties

– Date: August 19-20, 2024

– Venue: ISIEC Office, Owerri

 

13. Submission of Party Agents to the Commission

– Date: August 26, 2024

– Venue: ISIEC Office, Owerri

 

Part 2: Cost of Forms

-Councilorship Aspirants

– Expression of Interest Form: N10,000.00

– Nomination Form: N40,000.00

– Total: N50,000.00

 

– Chairmanship Aspirants

– Expression of Interest Form: N30,000.00

– Nomination Form: N120,000.00

– Total: N150,000.00

 

Special Waivers

– Female Aspirants and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are entitled to a 50% discount on the above amounts.

– Special waivers for students may be considered by the party.

– Late purchase of forms will attract a penalty.

 

Mode of Payments

Forms are obtainable only with Bank Drafts/Manager’s Cheques (non-refundable) made payable to APGA (Imo State). Completed forms should be returned to the party State Secretariat with proof of payment and all relevant documents/credentials within the stipulated timeframe.

 

Additional Information

The party reserves the right to issue forms to credible and eligible aspirants before the scheduled primary elections and to substitute candidates if necessary. Aspirants must comply strictly with these directives and any additional guidelines from the party. Dates and fees may be adjusted according to the realities of the primary election process and in compliance with the ISIEC timetable.
