Nigeria Set to Shine at Paris 2024 Olympics with 88 Athletes Competing in 12 Sports

Nith just five days to go until the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Nigeria is gearing up to make a splash in the French capital. A total of 88 athletes will represent the West African nation in 12 different sports, aiming to surpass the country’s best Olympic outing achieved at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

 

According to the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, the team is poised to excel and make the nation proud. “Our athletes are putting in tremendous effort and dedication in their preparations,” Enoh stated. “We are confident that with the support of every Nigerian, our team will excel and make the nation proud.”

 

The sports events Team Nigeria will compete in include:

 

– Athletics

– Badminton

– Basketball

– Boxing

– Canoeing

– Cycling

– Football

– Table Tennis

– Taekwondo

– Weightlifting

– Wrestling

 

Some of the world-class athletes representing Nigeria include Oluwatobiloba Amusan, Ese Brume, Blessing Oborodudu, Favour Ashe, Favour Ofili, Odunayo Adekouroye, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, and Aruna Quadri, among others.

 

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Nigerians are urged to throw their weight behind the team and cheer them on to victory.
