Hundreds of Civil Society Organizations, bloggers, and content creators gathered in Abuja to show support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The rally, which took place on Wednesday, aimed to promote constructive dialogue and collaboration with the government.
Murtala Adebayo, speaking on behalf of the groups, urged Nigerians to channel their energy into positive engagement rather than protests that could lead to chaos. He cautioned that protests can sometimes be hijacked by malicious elements, resulting in violence and destruction.
Mrs. Magret Thomas, representing the Women Supporting Women For Good Governance, highlighted the administration’s efforts to empower women economically. She noted that a violent protest could reverse the gains made so far.
Mallam Abubakar Malami, Secretary General of the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria, also emphasized the need for alternative means of dialogue and engagement with the government. He urged Nigerians to work collaboratively to address concerns while safeguarding stability and progress.
The rally aimed to promote peace and development, recognizing the achievements of the Tinubu administration while acknowledging the potential risks associated with protests.
