Shehu Sani Alleges Plot to Overthrow Tinubu’s Government

Former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has claimed that recent protests involving the display of Russian flags in northern Nigeria are part of a plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government.

The protests, which have taken place in Kano, Zamfara, and other northern states, have featured demonstrators waving Russian flags and calling for military rule. This has raised concerns about the motives behind these actions.

In an interview on Channels Television, Sani alleged that these protests were orchestrated by individuals aiming to destabilize the current administration. He claimed that prior to the most recent protest, funds and Russian flags were distributed to protesters. Sani suggested that this indicates the protests are not solely about government policies but are instead part of a broader attempt to incite disorder and potentially overthrow the government.

Sani emphasized that the situation appears to be part of a deliberate effort to create an environment of anarchy and lawlessness. He urged for vigilance and transparency in addressing what he described as a scripted attempt at creating instability.

This development has intensified scrutiny of the ongoing protests and their underlying motivations, with security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services, actively making arrests related to the issue.
