Going to Europe? NEW LAWS on What you cant Board with

The European Commission announced on Friday that new restrictions on liquids in carry-on baggage will be enforced across all European Union airports starting September 1. The new rules require all liquids, gels, pastes, and aerosols to be in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a clear plastic bag before passing through airport security.

This decision reverses a recent relaxation of liquid restrictions at airports that had installed advanced C3 scanning equipment, which allowed travelers to carry larger quantities of liquids. Despite the presence of Explosive Detection Systems for Cabin Baggage (EDSCB) at some airports, the new regulations will now apply uniformly across all EU airports, regardless of their technology.

In addition to the liquid restrictions, the Commission has set new guidelines for cabin luggage. Passengers will be limited to one cabin bag plus one small personal item, with the cabin bag weighing no more than 10kg. The cabin bag’s dimensions, including handles and wheels, must not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm, while personal items, such as handbags or laptop bags, must fit under the seat in front of the passenger and be no larger than 40 x 30 x 15 cm.

These measures are part of the European Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance airport security and ensure uniformity across all member states. Passengers traveling through EU airports should prepare for these changes to avoid any disruptions to their travel plans.
