In a historic event, the youth of Nkanu East Local Government Area have unanimously chosen Prince Mmadụabuchi Ogbu as their leader. This significant decision reflects the confidence and trust placed in him by the community.
During his acceptance speech, Prince Ogbu emphasized the weight of responsibility that comes with this role. “This is a burden of trust placed on our unworthy selves, that must be protected and not to be betrayed,” he stated, acknowledging the expectations of the Nkanu youth.
Prince Ogbu expressed his deep passion for the growth and progress of the youth in Nkanu and assured everyone that he would fulfill his duties with the highest level of dedication. He said, “We are assuring you that we will discharge our duties and responsibilities with utmost dedication within us.”
“As your leader, I will be in charge and take responsibility for our actions. Respect will be accorded to our leaders in various strata—political, social, religious, cultural, traditional, amongst others. I crave for your support, prayers, guidance, and most especially, advice. I will also appreciate your honest feedback and constructive criticism, to keep us on track,” he continued.
Prince Ogbu acknowledged the challenge of building a united, peaceful, and progressive Nkanu youth community, stating, “The burden of building a united, peaceful, progressive, innovative and creative Nkanu youths has been placed on us. We promise to deliver on our mandate. We will build an Nkanu where brotherly love and understanding will thrive. We will build an Nkanu youths where healthy competition for success will be the watchword, not antagonism and backbiting.”
In his closing remarks, Prince Ogbu expressed his gratitude to the leaders and youths who made the occasion possible, pledging not to disappoint them. “I will not fail to acknowledge the sacrifices of our leaders and like-minded youths who made this day and occasion possible. We will never disappoint you,” he affirmed.
The Nkanu East community looks forward to the leadership of Prince Mmadụabuchi Ogbu, hopeful that his tenure will bring positive change and progress to the youth of the area.
