Tottenham’s 2024-2025 squad features five standout players of Nigerian descent

London, UK — Tottenham Hotspur has officially submitted its squad list for the 2024-2025 Premier League season, and it includes five players of Nigerian descent. Headlining the group is Dominic Solanke, Tottenham’s most expensive signing in history at £65 million.

Solanke, who has already made his Premier League debut for Spurs, was sidelined with an ankle injury after his first appearance but is now set to return to the lineup for the highly anticipated North London derby against Arsenal. Since his Premier League debut in 2017, Solanke has played 135 matches, contributing 29 goals and 13 assists.

Joining Solanke in the squad are four Nigerian players listed as U21 members: Timi Adekunle (17), Miracle Adewole (16), Damola Ajayi (18), and Callum Olusesi (17). While none of the U21 players have yet made their Premier League debuts, they are part of Tottenham’s future plans.

Solanke is one of nine homegrown players in Tottenham’s squad, which refers to players who have been registered with a club in England or Wales for at least three seasons before turning 21.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is expected to rely on this talented group as the club navigates the challenges of the new Premier League season.
