MaxAir Limited has announced that its flight operations will experience temporary disruptions from January 4 to 8, 2025, due to scheduled aircraft maintenance.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the airline explained that the maintenance work is essential to ensure continued safety, reliability, and efficiency in its services.
“This necessary maintenance ensures we continue delivering safe, reliable, and efficient services to you,” the statement, signed by the airline’s management, read.
During this period, some flight routes may face adjustments or cancellations. However, MaxAir assured customers that operations would return to normal by January 9, 2025.
The airline has also offered affected passengers the option to reschedule their flights at no additional cost. Customers are encouraged to contact MaxAir’s support team for assistance with travel plans during the maintenance window.
This announcement follows a December 2024 incident involving a MaxAir aircraft. According to reports, the plane, carrying Borno State Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Kadafur and over 100 passengers, experienced an engine fire shortly after takeoff from Maiduguri International Airport. The fire, caused by a bird strike, led to an emergency landing.
MaxAir confirmed that the pilot made an air return after noticing abnormal engine parameters, averting what could have been a disaster.
The airline has since reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and maintaining high operational standards.
MaxAir’s proactive maintenance measures underscore its dedication to passenger safety and service quality. Travelers are advised to monitor updates from the airline and plan accordingly during the maintenance period.
