Veteran American actress Dalyce Curry, renowned for her roles in iconic films like “The Blue Brothers” and “The Ten Commandments”, has tragically passed away at the age of 95 due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
According to reports from Forbes, Curry remains were found after the flames ravaged her Altadena home. Her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, confirmed the news on Facebook on January 12, writing, “About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE. We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”
Kelley, who had dropped Curry off at her home on Tuesday night, was unaware of the severity of the wildfires until Wednesday morning. Upon returning to check on her grandmother, she was stopped by police at a barricade and was informed that Curry’s house had been destroyed in the fire. Desperately, Kelley visited the Pasadena Civic Center, where displaced residents were being gathered, but there was no sign of her grandmother.
“She was very active,” Curry’s granddaughter, Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, told ABC7. “You would not think she was 95.”
As of Sunday, January 12, at least 24 people have been confirmed dead due to the wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles. Dalyce Curry’s passing has brought sorrow to her family and fans alike, as she had lived a vibrant life and was well-loved for her contributions to film and her spirited personality.
Curry’s legacy will be remembered by many, both for her remarkable career in entertainment and her lasting impact on those closest to her.
