Ambassador Kingsley Okwara Delivers Keynote at African Union Agenda 2063 Gala

 

Abuja — Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address at the Assembly’s 1st Annual Lecture and Gala Night held at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

 

In his address, Ambassador Okwara called on African nations to unite in advancing the Agenda 2063 goals, emphasizing the importance of regional integration, sustainable development, and economic growth. He highlighted the Assembly’s efforts to enhance the well-being of Africans through innovative programs such as the mental health awareness initiative, which aims to prioritize mental wellness across the continent.

 

Ambassador Okwara also announced the imminent launch of the Shield Bearer program, a project designed to protect vulnerable populations, and the “Rent to Own a Home” initiative, which seeks to improve access to affordable housing. He encouraged government leaders to adopt these programs as tools for enhancing development and improving citizens’ quality of life.

 

The event attracted prominent figures, including H.E. Amb. Prof. Tunji John Asaolu, Chairman of the Assembly’s Governing Council; Amb. Dr. Emmanuel Egejurum, Esq., Speaker; and Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel, Head of Mission.

 

Chief Oscar Igbokwe, President and CEO of Bussdor Group of Companies, was honored during the event for his exceptional contributions to humanitarian efforts and economic development in Africa.

 

Ambassador Okwara reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to the African Union’s Agenda 2063, a comprehensive framework to transform Africa into a global powerhouse by 2063. The plan focuses on achieving economic prosperity, social progress, peace, and good governance.

 

The 1st Annual Lecture and Gala Night provided an opportunity for stakeholders, policymakers, and development partners to discuss practical strategies for advancing Africa’s development goals. The Assembly remains dedicated to implementing initiatives that promote a united and prosperous Africa for generations to come.
