Nigerian music icon, 2Baba, has confirmed his separation from Annie Idibia, his wife of over a decade. In a video shared on social media, the singer dismissed earlier claims that his Instagram account was hacked, reiterating that the announcement was deliberate.
“Hello my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk wetin I want talk, you understand? I come in peace,” 2Baba said in the video.
The confirmation follows a now-deleted Instagram post where the “African Queen” crooner revealed that he and Annie had been separated for some time and were pursuing a divorce. Shortly after the post went live, 2Baba initially claimed his account had been compromised, only to later retract the statement.
As of this report, Annie Idibia has not made any public comments about the separation.
2Baba and Annie, who tied the knot in May 2012, have two daughters, Olivia and Isabella. Their marriage has faced public scrutiny over the years, with accusations of infidelity further straining the relationship.
In 2021, Annie publicly accused the singer of maintaining a relationship with Pero Adeniyi, one of his baby mamas, who has three children with him. The singer also shares two children with another former partner, Sumbo Ajala-Adeoye.
Despite their marital challenges, the couple’s love story had been admired by fans, symbolizing resilience and commitment in the entertainment industry. However, the latest developments signal the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most celebrated unions.
The separation has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and well-wishers expressing mixed feelings about the news.
