Amb Kingsley Okwara Joins High-Level Roundtable on Economic Inclusion in Nigeria

 

Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara, the Deputy Head of Mission for the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, recently participated in a high-level roundtable focused on advancing economic and financial inclusion in Nigeria. The event, titled “The Aso Accord 2024: Pathway to Inclusive Growth and Development Partnership for an Economically Empowered and Inclusive Nigeria” was convened by the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria.

 

Held to discuss strategies for promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment, the roundtable brought together key figures from the diplomatic community, government, and financial sectors. The main objective was to explore pathways to achieve Nigeria’s ambitious goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Central to the discussions were strategies for sustainable growth and strengthening development partnerships to foster national prosperity.

 

Distinguished attendees included H.E. Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria. Also present was Mr. Babatunde Olofin, Managing Director of Moniepoint Microfinance, among others.

During the meeting, Ambassador Okwara underscored the significance of economic and financial inclusion for sustainable development. He emphasized that the Aso Accord 2024 represents a crucial step toward ensuring equitable access to economic opportunities, enabling individuals and businesses to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth.

“The Aso Accord provides a strategic roadmap to empower individuals and businesses, ensuring that economic opportunities are accessible to all,” Ambassador Okwara stated. “Collaboration among African nations is essential to realizing our shared development goals and fostering inclusive growth.

The roundtable served as an essential platform for exchanging insights and best practices on economic empowerment. It also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships and international cooperation in achieving Nigeria’s long-term economic aspirations. The African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development across the continent.

As Nigeria continues its pursuit of a more inclusive economy, discussions like these play a critical role in aligning both domestic and international efforts to drive positive change.
