Sokpoe Celebrates: Appoints Obaapa Adjoa Ankyaa as Tortsogbeza 2025 Ambassador

 

Sokpoe, a vibrant community in the Volta Region of Ghana, has honored Nana Hemaa Adjoa Awindor, affectionately known as Obaapa Adjoa Ankyea, for her exceptional contributions to the empowerment of women and children.

Hailing from Adum Kwanwoma with her development stool based in Afigya-Kwabre, Nana Hemaa has devoted her life to advancing the cause of humanity through her work as the Executive Director of the Obaapa Development Foundation. Her tireless efforts to uplift the underprivileged, particularly women and children, have left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

 

Transformative Work in Sokpoe

Though she does not speak the local language, Nana Hemaa’s commitment to the Sokpoe community has transcended linguistic barriers. She has been instrumental in organizing events for women and children (*Obaapa Women and Children’s Day Celebration*) through her work as the Executive Director of the Obaapa Development Foundation, sponsoring educational projects, and advocating for young girls’ welfare.

Through partnerships with international organizations such as World Vision, UNFPA, UNICEF, and PATH, she has brought global attention to Sokpoe, highlighting the needs and potential of its people. Her dedication to creating opportunities and addressing social challenges has earned her widespread admiration.

 

Recognized and Appointed as an Ambassador

As Sokpoe plans the 2025 Tortsogbeza festival, Nana Hemaa Adjoa Awindor has been recognized and appointed as an official Ambassador of the event. This recognition celebrates her iconic contributions and enduring commitment to the community.

“We honor Nana Hemaa Adjoa Awindor as a heroine, a champion of change, and a beacon of light. May her legacy inspire future generations to strive for greatness and to never give up on their dreams,” stated Togbega Kadzi Zogah II and Mamaga Adzesu II in a joint message of appreciation.

Nana Hemaa’s work has made her a symbol of strength and resilience, not only for Sokpoe but for communities across Ghana. Her unwavering dedication to fostering development and empowering the vulnerable continues to inspire hope and progress.

    Thank God for the life of our Hon Queen Nana Adjoa Awindor that Tittle is just one of the many that fits her I pray that govt will one day recognise her effects in Ghana congrats
