The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Abdulaziz Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl in Mubi North Local Government Area.
In a statement released in Yola, the state’s police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim’s father at the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters.
According to the police report, the suspect lured the child into his grinding engine shop at Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi North, on March 17, 2025, and committed the crime, fully aware that she is a minor.
“Upon receiving the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), immediately deployed operatives from the Mubi Division to take action. The suspect was swiftly arrested, and the victim was rushed to a medical facility in Mubi for urgent examination and treatment,” the statement read.
During interrogation, Mohammed reportedly confessed to the crime and remains in police custody for further investigation. The Commissioner of Police strongly condemned the act and has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for a thorough investigation.
The Adamawa State Police Command assured the public that justice will be served, emphasizing its commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, especially children, from such heinous crimes.
