Yulia Tarasevich, a 43-year-old former Mrs. Russia-International runner-up, saw her life change dramatically after a failed plastic surgery. The model, who was once celebrated for her beauty, opted for a procedure to smooth the effects of aging. However, the R$17,000 surgery—including mini-liposuction, face-lift, and blepharoplasty (eyelid correction)—left her unable to smile or even close her eyes.
“I just wanted to correct some of the nuances that aging causes. I unfortunately lost my health,” Yulia explained in an interview with the Daily Mail. She revealed that she could no longer smile, nor lift her upper lip, and a portion of her face no longer functioned properly.
Yulia, desperate to correct the issue, spent an additional R$115,000 on follow-up surgeries, but the results were disappointing. Still determined to seek justice, she filed a criminal complaint against the two doctors who performed the initial surgery. The doctors, however, defended themselves, stating that her condition was due to a rare genetic defect, claiming they were not responsible for the botched surgery.
Yulia disagrees, asserting that she had undergone successful plastic surgeries in the past, including a rhinoplasty, without any issues. She emphasized that all her pre-surgery exams were in order, and the failure of the procedure could not be attributed to any genetic abnormality.
Her case has drawn attention to the risks of plastic surgery and the importance of choosing experienced professionals, especially for those seeking cosmetic enhancements later in life.
