El-Rufai has called on law enforcement and human rights organizations to urgently investigate serious allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Abubakar Isah, against Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Isah alleged that Seyi Tinubu led armed men to disrupt NANS’ inauguration event at The Wells Carlton Hotel in Abuja and threatened his life by reportedly standing outside his hotel room with intent to harm him. The claims were made in an interview with SaharaReporters and have since sparked controversy online.
Reacting to the allegations, Seyi Tinubu denied any involvement, labeling the accusations as false and defamatory. His associates suggested they may pursue legal action over the defamation.
El-Rufai, weighing in via a post on X (formerly Twitter), tagged major international media and human rights organizations, demanding immediate accountability and transparency. “What is going on here?” he wrote. “We must ask questions, and demand answers and action!! #JusticeforNANSPresident.”
While Seyi Tinubu’s camp insists there was no security breach, and event sources appear to support that claim, El-Rufai’s statement has added pressure on security agencies to publicly clarify the situation.
The incident has ignited debate across social media, with citizens and political observers expressing concern over the implications of such allegations involving the president’s son and a key student leader.
