The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, for allegedly transporting human organs for ritual purposes. The suspect was intercepted on April 25, 2025, in Odomola, Epe, following a tip-off from vigilant residents.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Oghenebreme was moving the organs from Edo State to deliver them to a native doctor believed to be involved in money-making rituals.
“Operatives of the Odo-Noforija Division acted swiftly on credible public information, leading to the arrest of the suspect in possession of human organs,” Hundeyin said in a statement issued on Friday.
The organs have been transferred to the General Hospital in Epe for preservation, while the case has been handed over to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, in Olohundare Jimoh, praised the quick response of the officers and the alertness of the community. He emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating crime.
This incident adds to growing concerns over ritual-related crimes across Nigeria, and authorities continue to urge citizens to report suspicious behavior promptly.
