Cubana Chiefpriest’s Visit to VP Shettima Sparks Controversy

Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has drawn widespread online attention after sharing a video of his visit to Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima.

The video, posted on Chiefpriest’s official Instagram page, captured him smiling beside the vice president. In the caption, he referred to Shettima as his “father,” a statement that stirred mixed reactions across social media platforms.

Adding to the buzz, Chiefpriest used the opportunity to announce the release of his new song “Federal Government,” a collaboration with Nigerian singer Kcee. While the video seemed lighthearted, additional pictures from the visit that later surfaced online sparked heated debates among fans.

One of the most discussed photos showed Chiefpriest kneeling before Shettima, who appeared focused on his phone. Many critics interpreted the gesture as overly submissive, especially given Chiefpriest’s status as a wealthy and influential figure.

Speculations also rose that the visit might be connected to a recent incident involving his restaurant, where a staff member was caught improperly disposing of waste. Critics claimed he was seeking political favors to resolve the matter and reopen the establishment.

Fans flooded the comment section with mixed opinions. Some accused him of lacking integrity and chasing connections for personal gain, while others questioned the timing and manner of the visit. One user wrote, “Anywhere belle face. Nobody likes connections more than Cubana Chiefpriest. Zero integrity.” Another added, “Life isn’t just about money and power. May he not realize it too late.”

A few supporters defended the businessman, saying his networking was smart and strategic in a country where relationships with power brokers can make or break business success.

The controversy comes at a time when Chiefpriest is also under public scrutiny for alleged personal issues involving a woman identified as Hellen Ati. However, the socialite recently reaffirmed his love and commitment to his wife during her birthday celebration, sharing heartfelt messages and cherished moments from their journey together.

Meanwhile, Cubana Chiefpriest remains unapologetic. In another clip from his visit, he was seen having an excited conversation with Shettima, seemingly unbothered by the social media criticism.

Whether the visit was political, personal, or purely promotional, it has certainly reignited conversations about celebrity influence, political proximity, and public perception in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
