Daniel Etim-Effiong Reflects on Past Womanizing, Urges Youth to Avoid It

Popular Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has candidly shared his past experiences with womanizing, describing it as a phase of exploration and learning.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor admitted to dating multiple women at a time earlier in life, while emphasizing that he no longer supports such behavior.

“Maybe there was a time in my life I was. Definitions would differ, but in that definition, maybe there was a period in my life that I explored,” Etim-Effiong said.

Describing those moments as “good periods” only in terms of the lessons gained, Etim-Effiong stressed that womanizing does not bring lasting fulfillment.

“On paper, it feels like that is the life, but experientially maybe not.”

He now regularly advises young people to avoid adopting a lifestyle of infidelity, warning that habits developed in youth can damage future relationships and marriages.

“If you develop that lifestyle, you won’t automatically change overnight… That muscle for commitment doesn’t just develop after marriage.”

Etim-Effiong highlighted that many marital problems stem from habits formed before marriage such as:

  •  Jumping from one relationship to another
  • Failing to communicate effectively
  • Keeping multiple romantic partner

“When you marry, if you encounter a challenge and haven’t developed commitment, your instinct will be to walk away.”

Etim-Effiong is known for his performances in Nollywood films and TV shows, and is regarded as one of the industry’s thoughtful voices on marriage, faith, and personal growth.
