On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ghana Chapter, I warmly extend our heartfelt birthday wishes to you, Comrade Sunday Asefon.
As a former President of NANS, your outstanding service to the Nigerian students’ movement earned you the trust and appointment of President Bola Tinubu as the **𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀*. Since your appointment, you have continued to be a dependable voice—not only for students in Nigeria but also for those of us in the diaspora.
I wish to particularly appreciate your swift and impactful intervention last year during my official visit to Nigeria’s capital – Abuja, concerning the foreign degree evaluation impasse at the Federal Ministry of Education and the NYSC. Upon the Hon. Minister of Youth, Sir Olawande Wisdom’s directive, you took decisive steps to address the issue. Your prompt action ensured that the Director of the Evaluation Unit was engaged and that the necessary corrections were made. That move paved the way for the seamless processing of national service mobilization for foreign-trained graduates especially from Ghana.
Thank you for always standing in the gap for Nigerian students. We celebrate your life, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the student community.
May this new year of yours bring you greater strength, wisdom, and continued impact.
