Ogun Indigene Forum Ghana Donates to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital

Cape Coast, Ghana – June 17, 2025 – The Ogun Indigene Forum-Ghana (OIF-GH) National Executives marked their first anniversary in office by donating essential medical supplies and children’s materials to the Children’s Ward of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

The visit and presentation, which took place on Friday, June 13, 2025 was described by the hospital management as a kind and impactful gesture that reflects the OIF-GH’s commitment to community service and humanitarian development.

This gesture was part of our corporate social responsibility initiative,” said Dr. Tunji Osho, the National General Secretary of OIF-GH.

“We believe in giving back to society and supporting institutions that care for the most vulnerable, especially children.”

The items donated included medical materials, children’s clothing, toys, and other essentials aimed at improving the care and comfort of young patients at the hospital. The atmosphere at the presentation ceremony was one of warmth and appreciation, with hospital staff expressing joy at the support received.

The hospital management warmly welcomed our team and received the materials with gratitude and joy,” Dr. Osho noted.

“This act of kindness will undoubtedly contribute to the well-being of the children and support the hospital’s efforts in providing quality healthcare.”

The OIF-GH delegation, led by its National Executives, used the opportunity to interact with hospital officials, tour the children’s ward, and hear firsthand about the challenges facing the facility. This, they said, would help shape future interventions and areas of support.

The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, being a key referral and teaching facility in the Central Region of Ghana, plays a critical role in maternal and child healthcare delivery. Acts of generosity such as this, from organizations within the Nigerian diaspora, add crucial value to the health system.

Dr. Osho reaffirmed the forum’s dedication to humanitarian causes, emphasizing that the donation was only the beginning of a long-term commitment to partnership and social impact.

The presentation ceremony strengthened our commitment to giving back to the community and reinforced our partnership with the hospital,” he added.

“We look forward to continued collaboration and service to the people of Ghana.”

The Ogun Indigene Forum-Ghana, which represents citizens of Ogun State, Nigeria living in Ghana, has consistently engaged in advocacy, cultural integration, and social outreach. Their gesture at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is being lauded as a fine example of responsible diaspora leadership.

As the forum marks its first milestone in leadership, this compassionate initiative sets a strong tone for the years ahead — one defined by service, unity, and a firm commitment to human dignity.
