The Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, has reiterated the plan of his government to ensure that the final year students in both the tertiary ,senior and junior secondary schools returns to their academic centers for their final year exams.
On the 11th of June, the president also held a meeting with Vice Chancellors of the Public and private universities in Ghana at the state house where they dialogued on measures to ensure that the final year students completes their final semesters so that when school totally resumes the sector can be able to take on new students.
The president confirmed that there will be need to open the borders for these set of students as some are international students, those that travelled out of the country or returned to their respective nations during the beginning of the pandemic before the total lockdown needs to have free access to return back to the nation and be able to sit for the exams.

NANS GHANA
Following the protocol being set by Ghana govt to ensure ease of access of the nationโs border for students not presently in the nation, the National Association of Nigerian Students Ghana (NANS-GH) has released a press statement on the subject to Nigerian students back home in Nigeria or out of Ghana, on how to proceed with their return to Ghana from now till 21st of June that the schools are to be reopened for the finalists.
According to Hon. Oppong Nkrumah, the necessary arrangements should be made through the specific institutions in collaboration with the education ministry to enable access and entry into the country. He emphasized that the government is ready to open the border for these concerned category of students.
โFollowing this development, NANS-Ghana being the largest international students organization in Ghana has taken this up with immediate effect as the Executive President Comrade Adebayo Samuel Ogunkoya has commenced consultations with various universities all around the country for the purpose of easy coordination with responsible government agencies, transport company or airline, Nigerian mission and NIDCOM office.
