Dr Vincent Emeribe a US trained but Lagos based medical practitioner has reacted to the viral video of Dr.Stella Emmanuel purported to be shot in Washington , in which she was alleging to have healed over 350 patients with zero %  fatality rate with Hydroxy-chloroquine, Zinc and Zithromax.

Dr.Emeribe a highly reputed medical doctor who started his medical journey from University of Nigeria Nsukka and later went to US to professionalize, took to  his Facebook page to respond to Dr.Stella Emmanuel’s claim, in which he agrees to a certain length with her, but rather pointed out  a few uncertainties that he noted in her speculation.

“The recent news conference held in Washington in connection with the treatment of covid19 with hydroxychloroquine caught my attention as a practicing medical doctor in Nigeria. While Dr Stella Emmanuel has a point as to the efficacy of the above drug together with zinc and azythromycin, she failed to tell us at which stage these drugs can be used!!
It must be staged here for the purpose of science that covid19 can safely be decided into three stages; the mild, moderate and severe stages.” Dr.Vince said.

“The mild stage may not present with any obvious symptoms. This group DO NOT NEED ANY form of treatment. More than 70% of covid patients seem to belong to this group. The moderate group may present with fever, mild cough/catarrh with poor appetite and anorexia. This group mimic the malaria symptoms. This is because the virus is a Riboneucleic acid(RNA) based virus and has some malaria parasite properties, especially the falciparum type.” He confirmed.

“So if antimalarial drugs are used, there will be remission of the symptoms This is where the hydroxychloroquine comes in handy!! But it must be stated here that the artemisinin properties can also used with equal efficacy!! The azyrhromycin will take care of the respiratory tract infection, while the zinc is to help in cellular membrane repair. But this drug is not only for covid. It can be used for other diseases with potential cellular damage like enteritis and cardiovascular diseases.”  Dr.Vince affirmed.

“The severe one is very complicated and the management goes beyond the above medications. The patients may have co-morbidities in addition to respiratory distress, cardiac and renal failures, and gastrointestinal intestinal symptoms. The management here is complex, dangerous and multi disciplinary in nature”

“The patient will require intensive care management with ventilators and other supportive care!! This group has most of the fatalities that have been recorded so far. So we can now understand that Dr Stella only dealt with the simple covid patients in stage one with the medications she mentioned” Dr.Vincent Emeribe concluded

The Covid-19 pandemic has ushered in lots of uncertainties in the human socio-economic activities, coupled with the global economic recession and depression that has been predicted to be at its wake, already some business are reportedly to have shut down, most are hushing a cut down on their work force and some are forcing staff into taking pay cut.

Political and corporate leaders seems  helpless over the situation and the ordinary man who are the lowest rung of the economic ladder are at a loss on how to steer their affairs through this challenging times.
