Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has urged Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to beg the Nigerian government for his release. Ayodele warned that if Kanu refuses, he will die in detention.
Speaking at the launch of his 30th “Warning to the Nations” in Lagos, Ayodele advised Kanu to seek a political solution to his detention. This comes as Southeast governors and senators plan to meet with President Bola Tinubu to secure Kanu’s release.
Kanu has been detained since June 2021, despite court orders granting him bail. Ayodele predicted that Nigeria will break up without a bloodbath, starting from the North, but clarified that neither Kanu nor Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation agitator, will be responsible for the breakup.
Ayodele emphasized that prayer and fasting cannot prevent the breakup, as the spirit of existence is tired and the country’s forefathers, like Tafawa Balewa, are unhappy. He urged Kanu to beg the government for his freedom, as he lacks the capacity to continue the agitation.
This warning comes as Kanu’s detention continues to spark tensions in the country. The Nigerian government has refused to release him despite court orders, leading to growing concerns about his safety and well-being.
