The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, under the leadership of Engr. Dr. Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa (FNSE), is once again in the forefront of providing a conducive teaching and learning environment for staff and students of the institution.
Poly Nekede, as the institution is fondly called, has since started the COVID-19 free test for students, staff, visitors and of course the host communities, which is their own contribution against the corona virus pandemic ravaging the entire world.
This is coming against the insistence and dogged efforts by the leadership of the academic institution, to use the non pharmaceutical procedures in fighting and reducing the spread of the virus. Washing of hands and the use of nose mask, amongst others, are mandatorily observed by all in the academic environment.
You will recall, that the institution was the first to design and produce a mechanized hand washing machine during the heat of the pandemic in 2020, some of which were presented to Imo state government by the rector, Engr. Dr. Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa.
The Poly Nekede is the first and only institution on record to have taken this bold initiative of free COVID-19 test, when individuals and citizens and made to part with huge sums of money to undergo same test in some quarters. The institution also has registered patent of Automated Hand Washing Device developed by engineers and scientists in the institution.
The students and staff, knowing that their welfare and wellbeing are of the utmost importance by the institution, are now rest assured that they can go about their respective businesses in the academic environment without being exposed to deadly virus.
By these initiatives and decisive arrangements, the rector, Engr. Dr. Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa and his management staff, have restored confidence to parents and guardians whose children and wards are pursuing their academic dreams and aspirations to enable them become change agents and world leaders.
