Abuja, Nigeria– President Xi Jinping of China has extended an official invitation to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu for a state visit to China in September. The invitation was personally delivered by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, at Aso Villa on Thursday.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was confirmed that President Tinubu has accepted the invitation. This visit is anticipated to enhance bilateral relations between Nigeria and China, with a focus on the proposed currency swap agreement.
Additionally, the statement mentioned that President Xi Jinping has extended a warm welcome to Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to join the visit.
Vice Minister Chen Xiaodong was accompanied by a large entourage during the invitation ceremony, highlighting the significance of the upcoming visit.
