Honorable Tochukwu Okere, the Member of Parliament for Owerri Federal Constituency, is leading an initiative aimed at addressing food scarcity and inflation in the region. His approach focuses on supporting local farmers with the necessary resources to boost food production.
Recognizing that food security is a fundamental need, Okere is taking proactive steps to ensure that genuine farmers receive the support they need to succeed. The initiative, known as Toska Care, will distribute Urea and NPK fertilizers to local farmers starting this August. This project, which is assisted by the Federal Government, aims to enhance the productivity of native crops and promote agricultural sustainability in Owerri.
The fertilizers will be distributed exclusively to verified farmers through the Toska Care Initiative, located at the Toska Constituency office on Egbu Road, Owerri. This move is part of Okere’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on temporary aid and instead foster long-term agricultural development.
In times of economic and food insecurity, Okere’s commitment is seen as a significant effort to provide lasting solutions. His work is being met with widespread support from the local community, who are expressing their gratitude and optimism for the future.
This initiative is expected to transform Owerri Federal Constituency into a major food hub in Imo State, reflecting Okere’s dedication to effective and impactful governance.
