Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has revisited an allegation made against her earlier this year, where she was accused of stealing gold. The accusation, which surfaced in February, claimed that Anjorin had stolen gold from a seller, causing a stir online. However, Anjorin has firmly denied these claims, stating that the situation involved a failed transfer of ₦91,000 for accessories purchased in the Idumota area of Lagos.
During a recent interview with media personality Timi Agbaje, Anjorin expressed disbelief at the accusation, calling it “ridiculous” that she would steal something so small. “We’re talking about ₦91,000 gold when a gram of gold was 150,000. A gram of gold is less than a grain of rice, so how can you go into the market to steal something less than a grain of rice?” she questioned.
Anjorin, who holds a degree in Transport Planning and Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University, emphasized her credibility as a certified jewelry and fabric merchant. “I’m a certified jewelry seller, I sell gold and diamonds. I am also a certified fabric merchant. How can I stoop so low to go to Eko Idumota to steal a gram of gold? I am not a thief, and I will never be a thief,” she stated.
The actress’s comments highlight her frustration and disappointment over the accusation, which she believes was an attempt to tarnish her reputation.
