Enugu, Nigeria – Several Labour Party (LP) members of the House of Representatives from Enugu State have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The move was announced following a high-level meeting involving key APC stakeholders.
The meeting, which brought together the APC Progressive Governors’ Forum, the National Working Committee, and state chairmen, was attended by Chief Uche Nnaji and Chief Emma Eneukwu. During the session, a newly inaugurated member of the South East Development Commission presented the defecting lawmakers.
The Labour Party members who have declared their intention to join the APC include:
1. Hon. Sunday Umeha – Member representing Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency
2. Hon. Chima Atu– Member representing Enugu North/Enugu South Federal Constituency
3. Hon. Chidi Obetta – Member representing Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal Constituency
4. Hon. Oguerinwa Amadi– Former PDP member of the House of Representatives (2015-2023) and Labour Party Senatorial candidate for Enugu West
5. **Barr. Emeka Mamah** – Former Commissioner and Enugu State Campaign Coordinator for Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign
