The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed off Wadata Plaza in Abuja, the building that hosts the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over unpaid ground rent and tenancy obligations.
According to reports, the enforcement action took place earlier today, May 26, 2025, as FCTA officials moved to close the premises for alleged default in statutory payments.
Wadata Plaza, located in the Central Business District, has long served as the PDP’s national headquarters, playing host to high-level party meetings, strategy sessions, and press briefings.
Although the exact sum owed by the PDP was not disclosed, sources within the FCTA claim the action is part of a broader clampdown on property owners with long-standing debts to the administration.
This development marks a significant moment for Nigeria’s main opposition party and comes amid internal party restructuring and preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Further updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
