Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that 19 people have been killed in a series of missile and drone attacks launched by Russian forces across Ukraine.
In a statement on Monday, President Zelensky detailed the devastating impact of the latest attacks, which targeted multiple regions, including Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa. He confirmed that a rescue operation is ongoing in Kharkiv, where a missile strike caused significant casualties. “So far, we know of 19 deaths,” said Zelensky. “Dozens of strike drones also attacked Zaporizhzhia, injuring a child.”
The president also reported damage in Odesa from missile fragments. He described the ongoing attacks as part of “one day of Russian terror against Ukraine.”
Since Sunday evening, Russia has launched nearly 150 aerial bombs, missiles, and drones, targeting over ten Ukrainian regions. Combat operations are still underway to intercept remaining aerial threats.
Zelensky expressed gratitude for Ukraine’s air defense forces, acknowledging their continuous efforts to protect civilians. He stressed that Russian aggression could be halted through international pressure, sanctions, and continued military support for Ukraine.
“These Russian strikes on Ukrainian lives can be stopped—with pressure, with sanctions, by blocking the occupiers’ access to components they use to manufacture the means of this terror, and by providing arms packages for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
