Gunmen attacked the showroom of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, a leading Nigerian automobile company, in Nnewi, Anambra State, abducting three people during the incident.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the attack, which occurred at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday at the company’s motorcycle showroom on Owerri Road, Nnewi.
In a statement issued from Awka, the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced that a joint security operation had been launched to rescue the abductees and apprehend the perpetrators.
“The Police Command is determined and is already working with information obtained from the scene for the ongoing rescue operations,” Ikenga said.
He urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could aid the investigation. “We encourage residents or anyone with relevant information to visit the Command headquarters in Awka or report to the nearest police station,” Ikenga added.
This latest incident highlights the growing insecurity in parts of the country, prompting concerns about the safety of businesses and residents in the area.
