Abuja, Nigeria – The African Union (AU) Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ugandan High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria. The delegation, led by Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel, Head of Mission, and Amb. Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission, was warmly received by Ugandan Ambassador Philip Odida.
The meeting focused on advancing the Agenda 2063 aspirations, particularly the vision of “The Africa We Want”—a continent developed by Africans. Discussions also covered preparations for the upcoming African Union Summit, set to take place from April 6 to 11. The delegation sought Uganda’s support in selecting a venue for a side event, making hotel arrangements, and facilitating an audience with the Ugandan President and government to explore investment and business opportunities.
Another key topic was the establishment of a Mission House in Uganda to enhance the Assembly’s presence in the region. The delegation also stressed the importance of peace and security in realizing the goals of Agenda 2063, which aims to drive sustainable development and prosperity across Africa.
This visit underscores the AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly’s dedication to strengthening collaboration among African nations, fostering economic growth, and ensuring a peaceful and prosperous future for the continent.
