Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), is currently trending online after a video surfaced showing him mispronouncing the word “kudos” as “kundus.”
In the viral video, MC Oluomo was addressing his supporters and colleagues during a gathering in Abuja. While attempting to appreciate them for their support before his move to the capital, he said, “Kundus to you all,” instead of the correct term, “kudos.”
The slip of tongue quickly caught the attention of Nigerians on social media, sparking a flurry of memes, jokes, and reactions. Many users couldn’t help but find the moment humorous, with some already turning the word “kundus” into a trending slang.
One user joked, “Kundus fun gbogbo yin,” while another wrote, “Shame no gree me watch the part he talk am sef.” Others used the moment to reflect on the importance of education, with one comment stating, “Education is the best legacy… kundus to you all.”
Despite the mockery, a few social media users defended MC Oluomo, stating that communication isn’t only about grammar and urging critics to focus on his achievements rather than language flaws.
MC Oluomo was elected unopposed as the National President of the NURTW in 2024 during the union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference. He continues to be a central figure in transport union leadership and political circles.
This isn’t the first time the NURTW boss has sparked online reactions. Recently, a video showing him bowing to Seyi Tinubu at an Iftar event also made headlines.
As “Kundus” continues to trend, it seems MC Oluomo has unknowingly given Nigerians a new word — and another reason to laugh.
