Ogun Crash Claims Four Gospel Singers, 24 Lives

Nigeria has been plunged into mourning following a fatal road crash along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State that claimed the lives of four gospel singers and at least 20 other travellers.

The deceased gospel ministers have been identified as Evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina.

According to a statement issued by the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okupe, the devastating accident occurred when the vehicle conveying the ministers collided with another in a multi-vehicle crash. All four gospel ministers were reported dead at the scene.

The FRSC confirmed that overspeeding and poor visibility contributed significantly to the accident, which resulted in the loss of over 24 lives. Investigations are currently ongoing.

Kekere Jesu was widely recognized for his energetic street evangelism, fiery preaching style, and vibrant social media presence, where he inspired thousands with his messages of hope and salvation.

The Christian community in Nigeria has been shaken by the loss. In a public tribute, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain International Ministry, described the tragedy as a “deep loss to the body of Christ” and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.

As news of the incident continues to spread, tributes are pouring in across social media and church circles, honoring the lives and spiritual legacies of the ministers who died serving the gospel.
