Kaduna Assembly Calls for El-Rufai’s Probe Over N423bn Fraud Allegations

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has called for the investigation and prosecution of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and other members of his cabinet over alleged fraud totaling N423 billion. The assembly’s ad-hoc committee, led by Hon. Henry Magaji Danjuma, found that loans obtained during El-Rufai’s administration were not used for their intended purposes and that due process was not followed in securing the loans.

The committee’s report, submitted on Wednesday, revealed that the loans were not used to benefit the state and its citizens, but instead lined the pockets of El-Rufai and his cronies. The assembly has urged security and anti-corruption agencies to take immediate action to investigate and prosecute those involved.

This development comes on the heels of other allegations of corruption against El-Rufai, who has been accused of mismanaging state funds and engaging in other unethical practices during his tenure as governor. The call for his probe is seen as a step towards holding him accountable for his actions and ensuring that those responsible for the alleged fraud are brought to justice.

The people of Kaduna State are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the investigation and are hoping that those found guilty will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This development is a testament to the fact that no one is above the law and that those in positions of power will be held accountable for their actions.
