Engr. Francis Njoku assisting women in the rural area with palliatives
It’s an unarguable fact the global Covid-19 pandemic is exacerbating the social conditions of the less privileged and people in the urban and rural areas, as movement of people and goods are restricted and the right to work and earn a living has been temporarily terminated by governments in almost all nations and communities of the world as everyone is advised to stay home.
Captains of industries in the nation from all the nations as of 18th April has made over 25billion Naira donation to support the federal government in the fight against this new invincible enemy of humanity , the world saw Lagos State set up a world class 101 Bed isolation centre in weeks at the National Stadium in Lagos with support from GT Bank.
Other well meaning Nigerian’s are taking their own relief assistance straight to the door step of the people that needs it the most and this weekend another exemplary act of generosity was recorded in Ama-Ano Anara Autonomous community in Isiala Mbano Local Government of Imo State where Engr. Francis Njoku the Special Adviser to the Imo State Speaker on legislative matters complimented the efforts of his Boss and Leader Hon. Chiji Collins by donating hundreds of cartons of Noodles to the women and the aged in the community.

‘’ Its easy for one to observe the lock down when he is well tucked up in his house with adequate food in the store house and some money in his bank accounts, but to a poor mother with hungry mouths to feed that is a whole different scenario, old people in the village who are retired and depends on occasional stipend from their children who are barely making ends meet in the cities ,whose means of income has been stalled at this time are not having it easy’’ he said.
“I and my people are doing this as a palliative measure to support the stay at home in the fight to contain covid 19 , my boss the speaker of Imo state legislative house has made huge relief assistance to the LGA ,we his aides are also following his example and giving the little we can in the respective communities because no single person can satisfy perfectly the pangs of hunger that these pandemic has triggered in the communities, because now those that needs to work each day to earn their daily upkeep do not have such opportunities anymore ‘’ he reiterated.
“ I and my team carefully chose the option of noodles because it doesn’t require any extra ingredients , a poor woman in the village doesn’t need to start worrying over Oil, Onions or fish to prepare noodles ,its an all in one meal , besides children loves it”
“We are watching the scenario and know that there is a high probability of the lockdown being extended and are already making arrangements of providing more assistance, we are committed to ensuring that the women and the aged in our communities do not lack the basic things they need for sustenance in this trying times” he concluded
Engineer Francis Njoku, a young, educated and an international business man that unsuccessfully campaigned for a seat at the state legislative assembly in 2019 has proven once again that truly democracy is all about the people.
This sacrifice from him at this time that people are hoarding their excess over the uncertainties that has befallen us has re-affirmed the people of his constituency that truly his interest is not self but purely for the people.
