Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has accused the government of Ahmed Bola Tinubu of compromising security in Kano. He alleges that the Federal Government is refusing to withdraw heavy security operatives guarding the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and attempting to create terror groups in Northern Nigeria.
Kwankwaso vowed that the people of Kano would resist any attempt to undermine the constituted authority in the state, stating, “We have mass followership because people believe in us… We will not fold our arms and watch enemies of the state destroy the peaceful co-existence of our dear state.”
He emphasized that the people of Kano are open to dialogue and reconciliation but will not accept intimidation and political harassment. Kwankwaso warned, “We know how to play politics, and we have all it takes to protect ourselves from any evil.”
The former governor’s comments come amid allegations of federal security agencies backing the deposed Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in Kano. Kwankwaso’s stance is seen as a response to perceived interference in Kano’s affairs by the Federal Government.
